Great Shot of the Week
The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford (2007)
Dir. Andrew Dominick
A newer film for sure, one that many of you have likely seen (oh god, hopefully you have), and one that is slowly growing in importance. It deserves every last bit of praise it is sure to gain over the years, more than some others I know (looking at you Darko.) Andrew Dominick is certainly a director to watch, and I’m hoping his Cities Of the Plain adaptation goes through. If anyone’s tailor-built to adapt Cormac McCarthy, he is. Let’s hope Roger Deakins comes in tow.
